Lisa Merkatz created Lisa Merkatz Design, an interior residential design company in 2001. For 20 years she has been involved in designing luxury residences in the New York City area.   She prides her work on creating unique, elegant and timeless spaces.  Understanding that designing a home is an investment for her clients, she takes her work seriously and makes educated design decisions for her clients based on their lifestyle and what they want to achieve in their home.

“Seeing beautiful objects and images brings good feelings to people.”  Her goal is to create a beautiful living environment for her clients that make them want to go home each day.  Her rich understanding of colors, fabrics and texture has been influenced by her prior work experiences at Vogue Magazine, Ralph Lauren and Kate Spade.   She derives her inspiration from her urban surroundings, art, fashion, international travel, and from other design icons.   Although all her work is considered to be classic, she always finds a whimsical or bold twist making it stand out to be one of a kind.  

  

Lisa’s portfolio consist of townhouses, apartments, and homes in the New York Metropolitan area.  She can assist in all facets of renovations from beginning to end.  Lisa currently lives on the Upper West Side of Manhattan with her husband, two children and Clumber Spaniel named Friday.
